LOCAPAL is building a custom temporary grandstand to accommodate the public and operators for the TV broadcast.
LOCAPAL’s Design & Methods department developed a robust structure (110 tonnes) made up of space-saving components to meet the site’s requirements:
- No road access and need to pass through a narrow opening.
- The structure can be dismantled to allow the area to be used for future sporting events.
- Complex integration with the building’s exceptional architectural framework.
The assembly process began on May 22 and will end on June 16, 2023. Dismantling of the bleachers is scheduled for autumn 2024.
The Centre Aquatique & Franchissement in Saint-Denis features a concave timber frame made up of 91 beams spanning 90 metres – a world first!
