Civil engineering markets in Europe represented 254 billion euros in 2018. The two main markets are Germany and France, according to the European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) . In 2021, public works activity in France, marked by a post-health crisis rebound, will reach sales of €46.1 billion. Almost all regions and specialties recorded growth.

The rise in raw material prices, which will be particularly significant from 2021 onwards, is nevertheless weighing on production costs and affecting the situation of companies in the sector.

Against this backdrop, Locapal has been a leading expert in temporary steel structures since 1976. Reusing Locapal steel is more economical than buying new steel, and saves the equivalent of two tonnes of CO2 per tonne of steel reused.

Locapal's temporary structures cover all areas of civil engineering. 

Locapal is an active member of the Association Française de Génie Civil (AFGC) and takes part in numerous discussions on decarbonization in the civil engineering sector. In September 2022, we signed the Metropolitan Charter for Circular Construction drawn up by the Greater Paris Metropolis.
